Usa Holiday America

America is a country rich in wonderful scenery, charming small towns and villages, inviting coastlines and beaches and many of the world's most exciting cities. But in a country so vast with so much to see and do, having a reliable guide who will alsomake the essential arrangements for you can make all the difference between a good and a perfect holiday. At Titan HiTours we have been introducing clients to the often hidden beauties as well as the world-famous attractions of this continent for well over 20 years, and in that time have devised a portfolio of unique tours whose purpose is to get you to know and love the country as we do.

Although we have tours that take in large swathes of the country in one holiday – and clients have commented on how much we include without seeming to rush – we have also pioneered holidays that explore smaller areas in some depth and allow those times to 'stand and stare' that one can savour so much in memory on returning home. Visions of Virginia, for instance, to which we have added a stay in Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains; American Rockies & New Mexico; Texas Ranger; California Sunshine Coast; Florida, Fun in the Sun – all, in their different ways, have been a beautiful revelation and exciting adventure to which our clients have reacted enthusiastically. And they have been enchanted by our range of New England tours, many of them linking the villages on the USA side of the border with their Canadian counterparts in the Eastern Townships.

The big sweep of tours such as California and the Golden West, Southern Spectacular and Eastern Extravaganza do take the breath away for sheer spectacle and scope, and they have rarely failed to make those experiencing them want to see more of this inexhaustibly interesting country. We hope that the following notes about our American holidays will help you to choose your next holiday from a programme which is generally recognised to be the most comprehensive and of the highest quality offered by any UK holiday company.

Map of America

Scope and variety No one tour can encompass all that these states have to offer. Which is why we have established such an exciting portfolio for client choice, and for the many who wish to visit the area more than once. Billboard free Vermont, with its superb clusters of villages, featuring quaint inns, teashops and beautiful churches and the lakeside attractions of Champlain in the North; New Hampshire with its White Mountains and thrilling forest drives; Connecticut with its valley, river and boat harbours; Massachusetts with its graceful pasturelands and the gentle hills of the Berkshireswhere so many rich New Yorkers have second homes. Plus in the east, Boston and Cape Cod; the elegant mansions and yacht harbour of Rhode Island, the smallest state; and the coastal villages of Maine on a journey north up to Acadia National Park. All of these demand more than a cursory look, and all, we believe, are given their due in our tours.

We provide even more in scope and variety by linking tours to the complimentary beauties of Canada's Eastern Townships, just across the northern border and almost overlooked by tour operators before Titan's arrival. Niagara Falls and New York City are other attractions in several of these holidays.

A most comprehensive introduction to the entire eastern seaboard is our long-running Eastern Extravaganza holiday, which starts in French Montreal, runs via Niagara and gives a delightful overview of New York State, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut before arriving in New York. It then takes in the rural pleasures of George Washington's Pennsylvania and charming Philadelphia before concluding in elegant Washington.

The heartland of New England is best explored in Eastern Panorama, progressing from the Eastern Townships through the noble Appalachian Mountains to Lake Champlain and meandering delightfully down to Boston. The rest of our portfolio - Heart of New England and New England Highlights - concentrates on various aspects of the region. Or why not enjoy the coastal glories of Canada as well as the USA - New England's Coastal Villages and Nova Scotia is a delightfully different holiday. Our new Queen Mary 2 cruise introduces New York in a spectacular way, sailing from the UK and including two nights in New York.

The cities included in these tours are renowned for their elegance and sophistication. You may well want to return for a longer look, as many of our clients do, and our city samplers - Spring and Autumn in New York plus the two-centre Tale of Two Cities - Boston and New York are the ideal way of doing this.

Land for all seasons
The leafy byways explored in the above tours are justly celebrated for their blossoming spring finery and fall (autumnal) colours. Equally colourful is the ravishing spectacle of the Shenandoah Valley in full flower, offered in our Visions of Virginia holiday, which also includes a stay in the heart of Tennessee's Smoky Mountains. April to June is spring flowering time in these regions, beginning with the earlier warm weather in Virginia and progressing north to Canada. Temperatures and conditions of wind and rain are the unpredictable factors in determining the best times for fall colours. In Canada, leaves generally start to turn in the first week of September, continuing through the month and usually well into October, while in New England the best time is from the latter part of September until almost the end of October. In the Carolinas, azaleas and other spring flowering species are dazzling in April, a time of cherry blossom celebration in Washington - a display rivalled by Georgia a few weeks earlier in March. In spring, carpets of wild flowers grace the Shenandoah Valley, while for autumnal ‘leaf peepers', as the Americans call them, October is an ideal time to join our Visions of Virginia tour.
